This practice aligns with the neuro-affirming paradigm, situated within the social and human rights model of disability.  I embrace neuro-biological differences as a natural expression of human diversity, and therefore not as a deficit to be cured or fixed. I acknowledge there are enablers and barriers to any performance in occupation (activity in which we use to occupy our time).

I acknowledge and lament the past and continuing plight of the traditional owners and custodians of the land, sea and waterways on which we work and live, and pay my respects to their Elders Past, Present and Emerging, and honour their communities and their  living culture.  I acknowledge that lutruwita (so called 'Tasmania') where I reside continues to provide Tasmanian Aboriginal people with a meaningful connection to traditional food, ritual, medicine & craft as their way of being, doing and becoming.
